Wireless internet access is everywhere. Aiports, cafes, schools, universities, and now even the streets of London's Square Mile are all equipped with magic wire-free internet access, making it even easier for us bloggers to get that vitally important post up and available.
But is it safe? Many sources, including the BBC and The Independent, report on the apparent dangers of wireless internet. Surely all these invisible waves zapping around our heads can't be doing us any good?
Despite the fact that no conclusive studies have been made in this area, a number of UK schools have moved to ban wi-fi networks, believing them to be particularly harmful to the developing brains of children, with the Professional Association of Teachers requesting that schools stop installing them until they are proved to be safe.
But bear in mind that wi-fi newtorks are known to be significantly less harmful than mobile phones, due to the fact that they only need to transmit a mere number of metres. Wouldn't it be better to campaign for children not to use mobile phones, rather than removing the undoubted educational benefits provided by wi-fi networks?
