Dear bloggers,
Due to performance issues, we have had to limit the number of tags that appear on your blog to fifty. However we feel that fifty tags isn't enough, so over the next few days this number will be increased to one hundred.
So, at the moment, your fifty most common tags are displayed. This does not mean that your other tags have been deleted, they just do not appear on the blog.
In the future, we plan to have a 'Show all tags' button so that all your tags will be easily accessible. We also expect to be able to increase the number of automatically shown tags to two hundred, but no more than that since very few users have more than two hundred tags.
Thanks,
Your BCUK team.
Dear BCUK bloggers,
We would like to remind you to take good care of your passwords, and to help you do so, here are a few tips.
To register here on BCUK, you must choose a password that consists of at least six characters. Still, you must think carefully about what characters to choose.
For example, if your username is Teapot, you definitely shouldn't choose Teapot or even Teapot1 as your password.
In general, try to avoid:
-Names (family members, friends, pets, etc)
-Birthdays, phone numbers, car number plates
-Common abbreviations
-Consecutive characters on a keyboard, eg asdfgh or 123456
It's also a good idea to mix upper and lower case, as well as numbers. In general, the more characters you have, the better and more secure the password is. Also try not to use the same password for all of your internet log-ins.
We strongly urge all users to be very careful about divulging their passwords, and to be aware that important data such as passwords should not be sent via email.
Thank you, and happy (and secure) blogging!
It's that time of year again. It's time to think about which bloggers made a difference to you over the last year, and to honour them accordingly.
Yes, it's Bloscar time!
All the information you need, including the nomination form and list of categories, is here: http://thebloscars.blog.co.uk/
You have until January 31st to download the form, nomainate fellow bloggers in as many (or as few) categories as you wish and send them to bloscars(a)gmail.com.
Then, as of February 1st, you will be able to vote for one of the five people nominated in each category. Voting closes at 20:00 on February 28th, and the main event kicks off at 21:00.
There will be prizes for the winner - a keyring, a certificate and a free Pro account for a year.
All of us here at BCUK wish to thank all of you for taking part in this, but with very special thanks to those of you who are particularly instrumental in making this possible...you know who you are. ![]()
So, get voting and have fun!
