As most of you are probably aware, BCUK and its sister communities, blog.de, blog.fr, etc, were unavailable for about two hours yesterday afternoon.

This was because of a so-called Denial of Service attack. The attack was very promptly identified by our Admin team, and the platform was immediately taken offline to allow us to carry out investigations. Our forensic analysis of the attack is ongoing. After the necessary security measures were carried out, the platform was put back online.

As a result of this incident, some structural changes will be necessary. These will require the platform to be down for short periods over the coming days. Of course, we'll inform you here about when these downtimes will take place.
